The Fort Laramie National Hisotric Site has offically begun summer hours at the vistor’s center. The center will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Events are scheduled throughout the summer, which are free for the public to attend. On Saturday, May 31, the fort will host “Bats of the Fort” at 7:30 p.m. Event goers will have the opportunity to visit the fort as the sun goes down to watch brown bats take flight.

Junior Brooklyn Asmus crosses the finish line ahead of the competition in the finals for the 100-meters at the 3A state track meet in Casper on Saturday, May 24. Asmus clinched gold in both the 100- and 200-meters. The junior also clinched the Best of the Best Award in both events for posting the fastest time out of all classifications competing at state.

The Torrington High School track team rounded out a successful 2025 season with numerous top eight medals and PRs at the state track meet in Casper.

EWC golfer Joshua Chapman, pictured above at a home tournament in April, led the Lancers at the NJCAA national tournament in Newton, Kansas. Chapman shot 304 strokes (16 over par) over the course of four rounds to place 49th on the individual leaderboard.

The EWC Lancers rounded out the 2024-2025 golf season with solid performances at the NJCAA national tournament in Kansas.
