**GRAVESEND, KENT ??? Saturday, 31 May 2025** ??? The body of a **missing girl** has been **recovered from the River Thames** near **Gravesend**, Kent Police have confirmed. The recovery follows a **major search operation** launched after two children entered the river near **Royal Pier Road** at approximately **1:46pm on Friday, 30 May**, prompting an emergency response from multiple agencies. While a **young boy** was rescued from the water and remains in **stable condition** at a local hospital, the girl remained uned for overnight. ### Body Located During Second-Day Search Search operations resumed on Saturday morning involving **Kent Police???s Marine Unit**, **H.M. Coastguard**, and the **RNLI**. At around **11:40am**, a **body was recovered** from the water near Gravesend with assistance from the RNLI. The girl???s **next of kin have been informed**, and **formal identification has taken place**. ### Death Not Treated as Suspicious Kent Police have confirmed that the **death is not being treated as suspicious**, and a **report will be prepared for the coroner**. ### Emergency Response Praised Emergency services responded swiftly to Friday's incident, with the **Port of London Authority**, **H.M. Coastguard**, **South East Coast Ambulance Service**, and **RNLI crews** coordinating efforts to locate both children.
