Parkston School Board to meet June 9
The Parkston School Board will meet Monday, June 9, in the Elementary Conference Room at 6:30 p.m.
Preliminary agenda items include: call to order; establish a quorum; Pledge of Allegiance; open forum/public input; approve Consent Agenda-approve May minutes, approve claims, approve MOU for Our Home, Inc., Partnership Agreement, approve DSS Contract for Auxiliary Placement, approve Avera Contract for nursing services, approve summer maintenance workers, approve OHI and ESY summer school teachers, declare items as surplus; information/staff reports-high school principal, elementary principal/athletic director, superintendent; discussion items-Policy Review First Reading GCA-(R)1, GCBB, GCBCC, GCBD, GCBDA, GCBDB, Policy Review Second Reading GBL, GBM, GBM-R(1), GCA, GCB, GCBA, Policy Review Third Reading GBE, GBEB, GBEB-R(1), GBEC, GBG, GBGA, update on maintenance facility possibilities, review handbook changes, Maxwell-Bowar insurance coverage review, approve Ethan-Parkston financial agreements; action items-approve financial report, vote on Ethan-Parkston Track/XC Cooperative; executive session Personnel SDCL 1-25-2-1; and adjournment.
The Parkston School Board wants to foster community and input. Anyone who wishes to talk to the board about any topic is encouraged to do so. A place on the agenda is reserved for such conversations under 'visitor and correspondence.' The Board asks that you the superintendent in advance so that necessary arrangements, if required, can be made.
Parkston blood drive June 5
Give hope, strength is the theme of the next local blood drive. The blood drive is scheduled for Thursday, June 5, from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Avera St. Benedict Wellness Education Center at 401 W. Glynn Drive in Parkston.
