The Happening Church Street School for Music and Art's annual block party, "The Happening," will take place on Sun., June 8, from 12-4pm at White Street between Church and Franklin Place. There will be live musical performances from CSSMA’s Band Factory and group instrumental students, art projects, a raffle, food, drinks, games, and more. Entry is free.

 

Poetry Walk Poets House 27th Walk Across the Brooklyn Bridge will take place Mon., June 2, 6-10pm, rain or shine. The walk ends with dinner and poetry readings in a Dumbo restaurant. Readings take place at scenic points along the way. All proceeds benefit Poets House; reservations are required. More info here.

 

A Battery Park City farmers market is now open every Sunday until Nov. 23, from 9 am to 2 pm outside the Irish Hunger Memorial, North End Avenue and Vesey Street. The market is run by Down to Earth Markets and hosted by the Battery Park City Authority.

 

The Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra will perform a free concert at WSA, 161 Water St., 4th fl., on May 29, 7-9pm. The concert will feature works by the orchestra's Music Director and Conductor, Gary S. Fagin. Click here to reserve seats. There will be vocal works performed by soprano Christine Jobson, mezzo-soprano Kate Tombaugh, and tenor Scott Murphree, as well as an instrumental work. At the end of the performance, the audience will be invited to waltz to the accompaniment of the orchestra.

Cloud Paintings Storage, at 52 Walker Street, 4th Fl., is presenting paintings of Tribeca resident Jacqueline Gourevitch created between 1965 and 2018. The artist describes her work as "based on observation, memory and invention." To June 21.
