SOUTH CAROLINA — Some South Carolinians may find some unexpected cash in their mailboxes this month, thanks to a new initiative from the State Treasurer’s office.

NEWBERRY – When Hurricane Helene impacted Newberry County last year, it caused widespread damage and left many in need. One of those needs was that of food, which led to local area food banks to have their supplies drained and in some cases depleted.

NEWBERRY - Newberry City Council approved the recommendations of the Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee during their meeting on Tuesday. Motion to approve the recommendations was made by Councilperson Carlton Kinard and seconded by Councilperson Jackie Holmes.

NEWBERRY COUNTY — Calling all plant enthusiasts! Newberry County 4-H has officially unveiled a new perennial pollinator garden at the Clemson Extension Office next to Piedmont Technical College as part of Camp Sprout Scout.

NEWBERRY COUNTY — A Honea Path man has been taken into custody in connection to a string of auto thefts in the Bush River and Belfast sections of Newberry, the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday.

The Rotary Club of Newberry held their annual golf tournament on April 23 at the Country Club of Newberry. During the tournament, participants were able to enjoy a bag lunch and barbecue supper along with a beverage cart. Participants also took part in a hole-in-one contest where a Chevrolet Trailblazer, courtesy of Stokes Trainor, was up for grabs. There were also ‘closest to the pin contests’ and optional drives by the NC women’s golf team.
