Exciting progress is taking place at the Ramsey County Fairgrounds and Peterson Arena with the construction of the Western State Bank Event Center — a long-anticipated project that is finally coming to life. Connected to the north end of the 4-H Hall (formerly the Ramsey County Event Center) along Highway 19, the impressive new facility is hard to miss. The search for Jemini Posey, a Fort Totten woman who went missing last year, still continues. Her family hasn’t given up hope and is still doing as much as they can to bring attention to her disappearance. To continue bringing attention to her and other missing and murdered indigenous women, her family organized a 5K walk and run on Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4, the Spring Mni Wakan Oyate Wetu Wacipi (which translates to Sacred Water Nation) took place at the Burdick Arena. People who attended got to see traditional Native American dances, which included Traditional, Fancy, Jingle, Grass, and Chicken dances. Dancers in each category were awarded cash prizes.

The June 10th 4th annual Luxury Bingo - titled as “the Event of the year” - will benefit the Devils Lake Women’s Care Center - lifesaving program and services for local families. The event takes place at the scenic Odessa at Eastbay Event Center and features cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres at 6 p.m., opening remarks and Bingo games begin at 7 p.m. $100 per person which includes a bingo card for all games plus food and drinks.
