An eight-run uprising in the second inning propelled South Adams to a 15-5 win over Adams Central in Class 2A sectional softball action Monday afternoon. The win advanced the Starfires (22-5) into Thursday’s semifinals against Whitko (16-7). The winner of that game will face Woodlan (24-5) in the championship game Saturday after the Warriors defeated Bluffton, 13-2, on Monday and Fort Wayne Luers, 15-5, on Tuesday.

South Adams senior Noah Hunley carded an 18-hole score of 80 and finished one stroke off medalist honors at the ACAC boys’ golf tournament Saturday at Cross Creek in Decatur, taking runner-up honors.
